James Paterson - Principal

Principal, James leads the design, culture, and business of 3iii. His passion for design and the design thinking process is demonstrated not only through building the culture of 3iii but through teaching, mentoring, and sharing his passion with students ranging from Junior High to Post Secondary. He has also been a valuable instructor at Mount Royal University since 2011. James advocates for environments where “no one is left out” by implementing the 3iii principle: Innovation, Inspiration, Inclusion.

Originally from Vancouver, James Paterson moved to Europe in his early 20's where for 14 years he joined the fashion and music industry professionally. James attained his B.A. (Hons.) in Interior and Architectural Design from the University of North London England, and became a member of the Chartered Society of Designers in the U.K. James worked as a designer in Europe after attaining his B.A. (Hons.) and founded Jac Design London L.T.D. He returned to Canada in 2003 where he acted as design director for a prominent architecture firm before branching out on his own in 2011.

Janet’s personal drive, creative yet analytical approach and close attention to detail make her an asset on any phase of the project, from functional programming end user requirements to quality control reviews during construction and contract documentation. She is a dedicated designer with a passion for problem solving and offers a wealth of knowledge and experience to support her clients’ needs.
